NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Ten Yale student-athletes
were honored today, as the Ivy League released its list of those
selected for Academic All-Ivy recognition in fall sports. Eligible
student-athletes include all starters or key reserves on officially
recognized varsity teams that have maintained a cumulative grade
point average of 3.0 or higher.
Senior linebacker Tim Handlon (Valparaiso, Ind.), the
second-leading tackler of the Yale football team with 68, makes the
list as a Political Science major. Handlon also hauled in two
interceptions and forced three fumbles for the Bulldogs in
2009.
One of the leaders of the Bulldogs’ cross country program,
junior Jeff Perrella, was Yale’s second finisher at the Ivy
League Heptagonal Championship and top finisher at the NCAA

while also lining up at wide receiver and in the backfield for the

last spring. Wescoe, a History of Art major who also earned
Academic All-Ivy honors as a junior, had an impressive fall. He
placed second at the Macdonald Cup and seventh at the Big Five
Invitational in addition to winning both of his matches in Ivy
League Match Play.
All-Ivy Honorable Mention Caitlin Collins (Raytown, Mo.), a senior

addition to her on-field honor. Collins, a key defender in a
Bulldogs’ defense that posted seven shutouts in 2009, is a
Biomedical Engineering major.
Senior Cat Dailey (Newport Beach, Calif.) from the Bulldogs’
volleyball program adds an Academic All-Ivy nod to her ESPN the
Magazine Academic All-District First Team honor. A History major,
Dailey was the unanimous choice for 2008 Ivy League Player of the
Year and earned First Team All-Ivy laurels in each of the last two
seasons. She led the Ivy League in kills and service aces this past

the ITA Northeast Regional in October. Lederhandler is a Biomedical
