Overall building: 165' x 350' (57,700 sq. ft.).
Infield area: 26,000 sq. ft.
Track: 200m x 4 lanes.
Type of Construction
Brick with steel trusses. Roof is BUR with 3,024 2' x 4' lights
of glass in steel framework. Current track is "Textured
Athlaprene", installed by En Tout Cas. The rubber/urethane infield
was installed by the Copeland Co., AKA Dalton Enterprises, the firm
that built and maintains the Decoturf tennis courts.
The building was fully renovated in 1981-82, following a design
developed by Herbert S. Newman. The grandstand, offices, and
batting cages were constructed, the entire floor was laid with
athletic surfaces, new lighting was added, and all steel work
