NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The No. 2 Yale coed sailing team will race in its final regattas before qualifiers for Atlantic Coast Championships begin. The Bulldogs will race at the Sherman Hoyt Trophy hosted by Brown and the Oberg Trophy hosted by Harvard.
The Sherman Hoyt Trophy will be sailed on the Providence River in Brown's fleet of 420's. The Bulldogs will be looking to improve on last year's second-place finish at the Hoyt. Skippers senior Cameron Cullman, junior Chris Segerblom and sophomore Graham Landy along with crews senior Heather May and freshmen Charlotte Belling and Sanam Rastegar will all travel to Brown to compete. The Bulldogs will use this weekend to gain as much information as possible about the boats and venue of the Brown sailing team since the New England Championships and Atlantic Coast Championship Qualifiers will be sailed at the same location next weekend.
The Oberg Trophy at Harvard is a three-division event sailed on the Charles River at Harvard. Juniors Marlena Fauer and Eugenia Custo Greig will sail A division. Junior skipper Max Nickbarg and sophomore crew Sarah Smith will sail in B division. Sophomore skipper Morgan Kiss and freshmen crews Marly Isler and Emily Johnson will sail in C division.
The Bulldogs have been practicing hard and are ready to finish the regular season with as much energy as possible. All racing will begin at 9:30 am on Saturday. Results can be found at http://scores.collegesailing.org/.
