NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The No. 1 Yale coed sailing team will return to team racing this weekend, competing at the Southern New England Team Race hosted by Connecticut College and at the Mystic Lake Team Race hosted by Tufts.

While Yale is ranked first in the Sailing World fleet race rankings, the latest team race rankings by Sail One Design put the Bulldogs in seventh. However, the Bulldogs have not competed in a team race since before their intensive spring break training and are looking to improve from their fourth-place finish at the St. Mary's Team Race. The coaches who create the rankings commented that they "expect this team to look good at the SNETR" this coming weekend, attributing Yale's talent to "very good returning skippers and crews" who "know the plays."

Sailing at the Southern New England Team Race, often shortened to the SNETR, is the same team that sailed at the St. Mary's Team Race. Skippers senior Cameron Cullman, junior captain Chris Segerblom and sophomore Graham Landy will be joined by crews senior Heather May, juniors Eugenia Custo Greig and Marlena Fauer, and freshman Charlotte Belling. The Bulldogs will be competing in Connecticut College's fleet of FJ's while sailing on the shifty Thames River. The Bulldogs won this event last year and are hoping to continue their winning streak from the Trux and the Owen Trophy in order to reclaim their title at the SNETR.

Another team race team will travel to Tufts to sail the Mystic Lake Team Race. This event will give sailors who do not usually compete in team racing the opportunity to sail. Senior skipper Emily Billing with junior crew Amanda Salvesen will be joined by junior skipper Max Nickbarg with sophomore crew Sarah Smith and the freshman duo of skipper Marly Isler and crew Emily Johnson. This team will be sailing in Tufts' unique fleet of dinghies called Larks and in Mystic Lake's notoriously tricky conditions, making this weekend's team racing all the more exciting.

All racing will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. Follow results at
