Five Bulldogs Named to All-Academic Sailing Team

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - On August 5th, five members of the Yale coed sailing team – four also members of the Yale women's sailing team – were named to the All-Academic Sailing Team by the Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association.

The five sailors given this honor were graduated seniors Eugenia Custo Greig, William Feldman and Amanda Salvesen and rising seniors Katherine Gaumond and Sarah Smith

Only juniors or seniors that are key starters or reserves on a school's sailing team with a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA may be nominated. Just 54 sailors across the country were selected.

Custo Greig, Gaumond and Salvesen were three out of ten sailors named to the ICSA First All-Academic Team, Smith was one of ten named to the ICSA Second All-Academic Team and Feldman was one of 34 named to the ICSA All-Conference All-Academic Team. 

Custo Greig, Gaumond and Salvesen were also named to the 2014 ICSA All-American Team in June. Custo Greig was also selected for 2013-2014 Academic All-Ivy honors in June.

Custo Greig is from Key Biscayne, Fla. and majored in comparative literature. Feldman is from Hingham, Mass. and majored in economics. Gaumond is an economics major from Mill Valley, Calif. Salvesen is from Edgewater, Ma. and majored in global affairs. Smith is a statistics major from Darien, Conn.
