This weekend, the Yale sailing team will finally test itself within its own conference. Their No. 1 ranked team will compete at Roger Williams for the Friis Trophy, while its strong second team will race at Boston University. In addition, a young team of two first years and two sophomores competes in a fleet race at the Coast Guard Academy.

BU Team Race – Boston University

Until now, the Bulldogs have been playing teams in the southern and mid-Atlantic conferences, and haven't faced top NEISA teams. This weekend at Roger Williams their top team will face those teams. No. 5 Boston College, No. 6 Bowdoin, No. 10 Roger Williams, No. 12 Dartmouth, and No. 14 MIT will all be there, including west coast powerhouse No. 3 Stanford. This is the deepest event the team has faced so far, and they are in full stride after a few weeks of shaking off the rust. Unfortunately, starter Shawn Harvey will not be able to compete due to sickness, but Klinger has been working hard in practice and will be excited for her first opportunity to compete at the top level of team racing.
The rest of the team had last weekend off, so will be excited to get back on the water to compete. The event at BU has been cancelled due to extreme weather, but they will race on Sunday.
Racing begins at 11am Saturday, and scores can be found at https://collegesailing.org/.
