ADULT LESSONS

 

ADULT LESSONS are taught to the beginner and intermediate/advanced levels in 420s. Class sizes are limited to ensure close interaction with the instructors, so please register early. Please note that separatoin into Level 1 and Level 2 will be done the day of the lesson; no need to specify your level for the registration process.

 
420 Level 1

o      Sat and Sun 10 am-4pm

o      A two-day intensive class for beginning sailors providing 10 hours of teaching including chalk board explanations, sailing demonstrations and on-the-water instruction. Along with this course, you will receive a simple sailing book that you will be able to keep. This book will allow you to refresh your memory on some of the topics covered in the class! Students will learn the basics of sailing: rigging, launching, basic maneuvering, capsize and rescue, and landing.

o      $200 for each 2 day class.

o      Weekend 1 - 6/22-23/13      Weekend 2 - 7/20-21/13

 


 

420 Level 2

o      Sat and Sun. 10am-4pm

o      A two-day intensive class for intermediate level sailors. This class is also 10 hours of teaching including chalk board explanations, sailing demonstrations and on-the-water instruction.  This class will focus on more on the water skills and is expected to have very short on land activities. Along with this course, you will receive a simple sailing book that you will be able to keep. This book will allow you to refresh your memory on some of the topics covered in the class! Students will become more comfortable with sailing in many conditions and become experienced enough to go sailing on their own. After completion of this course, students will be able to become a summer member and go sailing during open sailing hours.

o      $200 for each 2 day class

Weekly racing series

o      Tuesdays at 6pm (weather permitting).

o      Gives members an opportunity to show off their skills or to just float around with their friends. Casual races are organized every week and there is a wide range of skill level—don’t be afraid to come out!
