Barrows is the 2008 Team Captain. In 2007, Barrows won the ICSA Singlehanded National Championships in the Laser class, becoming the first male Bulldog to ever become the ICSA Singlehanded National Champion. Named an ICSA All-American Skipper in 2007 and 2008. In 2008, Barrows qualified for and represented the US Virgin Islands at the 2008 Beijing Olympics in the Laser class, where he placed 21st out of 43 competing nations. Barrows competed at the 2007 Pan American Games for the U.S. Virgin Islands and placed ninth. Other international competition includes competing at the past two Laser World Championships and winning the Laser North American Championship in 2007. As a freshman, Barrows and crew Abigail Coplin won B Division at the 2007 ICSA/Gill Dinghy National Championships High school and Junior Sailing: 2005 U.S. Youth Singlehanded Champion. 2006 ISSA US National High School Team and Fleet Race Champion. Sailed and lettered for Antilles School. Played and lettered in soccer in high school and was team's leading scorer. Also participated in volleyball and basketball.
