NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The No. 3 Bulldogs, who emerged victorious last weekend in a wind constrained weekend, will seek to continue their strong string of performances this week at three venues, including the McNay Family Sailing Center.
The highlight of the Bulldog's weekend will be at the Danmark Trophy hosted by Coast Guard. The Bulldogs will face strong intersectional competition at the regatta hosted by Coast Guard in one fleet of 420 and one fleet of 420s. The Bulldogs placed second at the event in 2007 behind a second-place finish by junior captain Thomas Barrows and his crew Abigail Coplin '08, who has now graduated.
The Bulldogs will also compete at the Smith Trophy hosted by MIT. The competition, which at 28 teams is scheduled to be the largest in college sailing this year, will allow the Bulldogs to showcase their Tech sailing abilities. The team placed fourth at the event in 2007. The regatta takes place on the shifty Charles River.
The Bulldogs will also host a regatta at home. The Southern Series Three event will be hosted by the Bulldogs at the McNay Family Sailing Center. The skipper's meeting is scheduled to be at 9:30 a.m.
