OHare Named Coastal Plain League Pitcher of the Week
Yale Lefty Tosses No-Hitter in Summer League
RALEIGH, N.C. – Yale freshman Christopher O'Hare (Lynnfield, Mass.) was named Rawlings Pitcher of the Week for June 7-13 in the Coastal Plain League.
O'Hare, playing for the Outer Banks Daredevils, pitched a complete-game, no-hitter against the Edenton Steamers on June 8 in a 2-0 win. The 6-foot-3 lefthander struck out 10 and gave up two walks. He allowed just three baserunners. The other Steamer reached first on an error in the third inning.
It was O'Hare's first decision of the summer in the CPL and the first complete-game no-hitter in the league since June 8, 2008. O'Hare became the 18th pitcher in league history to accomplish this feat.
O'Hare was 2-0 with a 5.13 ERA for the Bulldogs this spring. His two wins came against UMBC (March 8) and Harvard (April 28).
