City Series This Weekend

Yale Field Hosting 4 Games

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The 2010 New Haven City Series is set for Yale Field this weekend with a pair of games on Friday and Saturday. Quinnipiac and Southern Connecticut State play at 3 p.m. on Friday followed by a Yale-New Haven, 6:30 contest.

The City Series champion will be crowned after Saturday's 3 p.m. title game. Third place will be decided prior to the championship game. The first pitch of the consolation game is set for noon.

SCSU and New Haven both earned spots in the 2010 NCAA Division II Tournament, while the Bobcats and Bulldogs hooked up in Hamden last spring for a 37-run affair.

Yale is led by senior captain Andy Megee (Los Angeles), who started all 44 games for the Bulldogs last spring and has not missed a game in his career. He hit .310 and finished second on the team in homeruns (eight), RBI (43) and stolen bases (11). He was also fourth on the team in slugging percentage (.561).
