WINTER HAVEN, Fla. — The Yale University baseball team suffered a setback on Tuesday in the fifth game of its participation in the RussMatt Invitational.

Trailing 3-1, Yale rallied with three runs in the fourth inning but the Bulldogs could not hold on to the 4-3 lead as Toledo rallied over the final five innings to take a 9-4 win at Chain O'Lakes Stadium.

The loss drops Yale to 2-3 on the season, snapping a short-lived two-game winning streak, while Toledo improves to to 4-6.

Toledo relievers Alex Radon and Adam Tyson held the Bulldogs to just one hit over the final 5 innings.

Yale struck first with a run in the first inning, but Toledo grabbed control of the game with a three-run burst in the second inning fueled by a bases loaded double that plated two runs to start the Toledo scoring.

Yale reclaimed the lead with a three-run fourth inning, but Toledo responded with a run in the fifth, four runs in the sixth and another run in the seventh to pull away.

The Bulldogs return to action on Thursday with a doubleheader against Bowling Green beginning at 3:30 p.m.
