Bulldogs Fall In City Series Opener

Squires Goes 2-for-4 To Lead Yale

WEST HAVEN, Conn. – Cam Squires went 2-for-4 but Yale fell to New Haven 2-0 on the opening night of the New Haven City Series at Yale Field.

Cale Hanson, David Toups, Kevin Fortunato and Tom O'Neill also had hits for the Bulldogs.

UNH scored both its runs in the eighth inning.

Yale pitchers combined for 17 strikeouts in the game. David Hickey went the first 7.1 innings and struck out 13. Ben Joseph then came on in relief and struck out four in 1.2 innings.

The Bulldogs will play Southern Connecticut on Saturday at noon.
