The Bulldogs head back on the road this weekend with a three-game series at New Orleans beginning Friday.

Yale took one of four games at New Mexico State last weekend to open the season.  Scott Politz, Benny Wanger and Simon Whiteman were honored by the Ivy League for their efforts.

Politz earned the win and did not allow an earned run in 7 and 2/3 innings against New Mexico State, which entered this week the top hitting team in the nation with a .447 team batting average.

Wanger went 7 for 13 (.538), homered and drew seven walks in the four-game series against the Aggies for a .700 on-base percentage.  Whiteman hit .444, led the Bulldogs with eight hits and scored five runs.

New Orleans, of the Southland Conference, has opened the season 6-1 following a win at No. 23 Southern Mississippi on Tuesday evening.  The Privateers took two of three from Michigan State to open the season.
