NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- After playing the first 15 games of the season on the road, the Bulldogs open the home portion of their schedule with a non-conference matchup against Quinnipiac on Wednesday.

First pitch at Yale Field is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.

Yale (5-10) enters the game off a road win against Stetson, a team that won a NCAA Regional title a year ago.  And the Bulldogs did behind a stellar performance from Alex Stiegler.

The righty struck out 14 without a walk over eight innings in a 7-3 victory.  For his efforts, Stiegler was named Ivy League Pitcher of the Week.

Griffin Dey and Jake Gehri were also named to the league weekly honor roll.   Both homered in the win over Stetson last Saturday to close out the Bulldogs swing through Florida.

Dey leads the team with three homers, while Gehri has two while hitting .348.  Simon Whiteman continues to lead the team with a .388 batting average over his first 67 at bats.

Quinnipiac enters the game at 5-10 overall.
