The Bulldogs step out of Ivy League play for a midweek road game at Hartford on Wednesday afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
Yale, winners of three of its last four, took two of three last weekend at Brown to open the Ivy League season. The Bulldogs enter the game with an 8-11 record.
First-year Jake Gehri continues to be hot at the plate. The Buckley, Wash., native was named Ivy League Rookie of the Week and entered the week with a .355 batting average, 20 RBI and an Ivy League-leading six homers. In addition, he has a .444 on-base percentage.
Gehri ranks sixth in the conference in batting average, one spot behind teammate and team captain Simon Whiteman, who is hitting .360 on the season. Griffin Dey ranks fourth in RBI (21) and homers (4).
Hartford (5-12) lost at UConn on Tuesday after sweeping a three-game series at Georgetown last weekend.
After Wednesday's game, the Bulldogs host Cornell for a three-game series starting with a doubleheader on Saturday at Yale Field.
