AT YALE: Lovett has been bothered by knee injuries in each of the last two years. When healthy, he is an excellent shooter. Last winter, he was limited to 19 games. His top performance came against Fairfield when he scored eight points in 16 minutes off the bench. Against Old Westbury, he had eight points, four rebounds and three assists in 15 minutes.

As a sophomore Lovett shot a career best 43.2 percent from beyond the three point arc. Against Penn State, playing in front of numerous family members and friends, he made 5 of 6 shots from the field, including 4 of 5 three-pointers, and finished with 15 points. He followed that up by scoring 14 points in Yale's next game against Sacred Heart. His first career start came against Fairfield, one of four starts on the season. Prior to the start of the season, Lovett had surgery on both knees, which kept him from playing during Yale's trip to Italy.

As a freshman Lovett was a solid contributor, appearing in 28 games off the bench. He was one of six players with at least 20 three-pointers (22). His top performance came against Long Island when he made 5 of 7 shots and finished with a team-high 16 points and seven rebounds. He also led the Bulldogs with 14 points at Cornell.

AT SHADY SIDE ACADEMY: Lovett is the all-time leading scorer in Shady Side history with 1,930 career points. He is a two-time all-state and all-league selection and was team captain for two seasons. As a junior he helped lead Shady Side to the Pennsylvania state championship.

PERSONAL: Mark was born on March. 14, 1982. He is the son of Robert and Maryjean Lovett. At Yale he is an economics major. Mark's father played basketball at Pittsburgh and was a classmate of Yale Athletic Director Tom Beckett.
