Alex Zampier Named Ivy League Player Of The Week
Scored 25 Points Against Providence
NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Alex Zampier, who scored 25 points against Providence last Monday night, was named the Ivy League Player of the Week. He shared the honor with Cornell's Jeff Foote.
Zampier, who leads the Ivy League in scoring (18.9 ppg.), was 10-of-19 from the field against the Friars, grabbed a career-high seven rebounds and handed out three assists in 31 minutes. Fifteen of his points came in the first half as the Bulldogs built a 40-36 lead at the intermission. The lead grew to seven midway through the second half before the Friars rallied. It was the third time this season Zampier scored at least 25 points in a game.
Zampier and his teammates will be back in action on Tuesday night when they play at Colorado. Tipoff is slated for 9 p.m. EST and the game will be televised on FSN Rocky Mountain.
