NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The best game of Austin Morgan's young career at Yale helped the Bulldogs pull off a big upset. Morgan made six three-pointers en route to scoring a career-high 25 points to lead Yale to a 75-67 victory over Boston College. On Monday, Morgan was recognized for his performance by being named the Ivy League Player of the Week. He shared the honor with Harvard's Christian Webster.
Morgan connected on 16 of his 25 points in the first half, hitting 5-of-6 three-pointers, as he helped Yale to a 30-25 halftime lead, a lead the Bulldogs never relinquished. In the two games, Morgan averaged 20.5 points and shot 53.8 percent (14-of-26) from the field and 60 percent (9-of-15) from three-point range.
Morgan leads Yale in scoring (18.0 ppg.) and three-pointers (10).
The Bulldogs are back in action on Tuesday when they play at Illinois. Tip-off at Assembly Hall is slated for 9:45 p.m. EST and the game will be televised on ESPNU.
