Yale Advances to Final 8 at Henley
New Haven, CT – The Bulldogs have won their first two races at the Henley Royal Regatta and now are one of eight remaining crews competing for the Temple Challenge Cup. The field originally had 32 entries.
On Wednesday, Yale took to the River Thames lining up against Temple University (USA). A quick start put Yale out in front and the Elis contniued to push out down the course. The Blue beat Temple by 2 ½ lengths, finsihing the course in 6:30.
Today, Yale defeated Bath University (UK) by 2 ¾ lengths.
The Bulldogs next race on Friday morning, but the tim and opponent have yet to be determined.
Newly elected Yale Captain, Angus Morrison '19, sits in Yale's six seat. Though he is happy with the results thus far, Morrison is weary of being too confident. He said, "the key to progressing in this regatta is definitely by taking it one day at a time."
