Regatta Weekend Begins with Combo Win
GALES FERRY, Conn. – The Yale-Harvard Regatta weekend began with the Bulldogs capturing the combination race, for the Snider Cup, by a boat length this evening on the Thames River.
The Crimson had an early lead over the first few minutes of the race before Yale charged back. The Elis caught up and then steadily gained an advantage before building a boat-length lead halfway through the two-mile race.
The combination race, which awards its winner a cup named after long-time Yale rowing coach Jamie Snider, is the official start of the regatta weekend. Yale and Harvard row three races on Saturday beginning at 12:45 on ESPN+.
