Lightweights Gear Up For Princeton Three-Mile Chase

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Yale men's lightweight crew team will continue its fall season this Sunday, Oct. 25, with the Princeton Three-Mile Chase regatta. The Princeton Three-Mile Chase is an invitational head-race for men and women’s collegiate crews, and it will take place on Lake Carnegie in Princeton, NJ.

Last weekend, the Bulldogs took fourth and sixth places in the Men's Lightweight Fours event at the Head of the Charles regatta. The fourth place Yale boat was the highest finisher among all collegiate crews. Don Rowing Club took first place with a time of 17:26.637, Riverside Boat Club came in second place, New York Athletic Club took third place and Yale finished fourth with a time of 17:28.655. In the Lightweight Eights, Yale started in ninth place and moved up three spots to finish sixth with a time of 15:55.939. Yale's freshman boat entry in the Lightweight Eights finished with a time of 16:38.716.

At last year's Princeton Three-Mile Chase, the Elis won both the Men's Lightweight Eight and the Men's Open Pair. Yale also took third in the men's lightweight four and freshman eight. The Y150 squad will look to replicate these wins in this year's race.

The Bulldogs will have four boats racing in the Men's Varsity Lightweight Eights, one entry in the Men's Freshman Lightweight Eights, and three boats competing in the Men's Varsity Lightweight Fours.
