NEW HAVEN, Conn.– The Yale men's lightweight crew team will finish its fall season this Sunday, Oct. 30, with the Princeton Three-Mile Chase. Held on Lake Carnegie in Princeton, N.J., this invitational race will feature many of the Bulldogs' main EARC opponents, allowing them to see how they stack against the competition before the winter season. Many oarsmen will also compete in multiple races, giving them valuable racing experience before the spring.

Last weekend, the Bulldogs raced to second- and third-place finishes in the lightweight fours event at the Head of the Charles, the top two collegiate finishers. Yale's times of 16:57.8 and 17:09.9 trailed only New York Athletic Club's time of 16:29.7. In the lightweight eights event, Yale improved on last year's ninth-place finish with a fifth-place finish, posting a time of 15:03.6. In a race won by US Rowing in 14:27.7, Yale narrowly missed fourth-place Georgetown's time by 0.3 seconds.
Last year at the Princeton Chase, Yale finished sixth in the varsity lightweight event, thus will start sixth this year in the event, which begins at 10:30 a.m. It also finished 11th in the lightweight fours event, which starts at 1:30 p.m., and fifth in the pairs event, which begins at 2:30 p.m. In addition, the freshmen, who finished fourth in the freshmen event, which was second among lightweight crews, will race at 1:00 p.m.
