Y150 Competes at Head of the Housatonic

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale lightweight crew team opened the fall season head racing at home with the Head of the Housatonic racing crews from the Yale heavyweight team, as well as visitors from the University of Pennsylvania.

The first race of the day was the eights race. Yale's lightweight 'A' crew finished 3rd in a time of 13:25 behind the Yale heavyweight varsity eight and a heavyweight crew from Brown University. The lightweight 'C' and 'B' crews finished in a time of 14:05 and 14:06 respectively.

In the afternoon, the lightweights split into fours and raced in the open men's four event. Yale's fours finished third, fifth, eighth and ninth respectively against crews from the heavyweight programs at Brown University and Columbia University.

The Bulldogs now have a week to prepare for their next test at the Head of the Charles race in Boston on October 18.
