Hanover, NH - The men's lightweight team swept four of five races this morning in Hanover, defeating Dartmouth and Rutgers. The Elis finished with a time of 5:20.1 seconds, which was almost seven seconds ahead of Rutgers and over eight seconds faster than Dartmouth. Today's win marks the eleventh consecutive year of Durand Cup dominance for the Elis.
The second varsity clocked in with a time of 5:30.0 seconds flat, putting them .75 seconds ahead of Dartmouth and 3.5 seconds better than Rutgers. The varsity four also put in a stellar performance, rowing their way to first with a 6:15.3 second race, with Dartmouth's two crews placing second and third.
Yale's freshman eight also dominated the competition with a time of 5:31.7 seconds, over nine seconds faster than Rutgers. A Dartmouth crew member failed to make weight, so the Dartmouth boat rowed but did not compete.
