NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Yale men's fencing team will host Sacred
Heart and Drew for a meet on Saturday, January 30. The meet will
take place in the seventh floor fencing salon in the Payne Whitney
Gymnasium. This will be the Elis' final competition of the regular
season, before they begin Ivy League competition.
Last year, the Bulldogs hosted both Sacred Heart and Drew and won
both matched by a final score of 15-12. The previous year, Yale
also defeated Sacred Heart by a final score of 15-12. Drew was a
new addition last year.
Team captain Andrew Holbrook is looking forward to the meet as a
tuneup for the Ivy Championships.
"We are all excited for our final home meet of the season," he
said. "As we head into the break before Ivies, it will be important
for us to come out focused and ready. We want to make the most of
this final opportunity to prepare for the Ivy League tournament.
Against Sacred Heart, we will need to be prepared from the first
bout, but we are confident that we can win against both
schools."
The meet will begin at 1 p.m. against Sacred Heart, with Drew
following after.
