Look to Fight Back After Close Loss Last Year
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – After falling to Sacred Heart in a 14-13 split last year, the No. 10 Yale men's fencing team will look to turn the tables when it takes on the No. 9 Pioneers at Payne Whitney Gymnasium on Jan. 28.
The Bulldogs head into Sunday's match with considerable momentum — a strong opener at the Jan. 22 NYU Invitational, which included a trio of victories, and diligent work over the break and during the fall season.
Importantly, this is Yale's first home meet of the season and the Bulldogs will make every effort to enjoy the home field advantage this weekend. With hopes for a large fan turnout, the Elis are looking to fine tune before the Ivy League Championships, hosted this year at Coxe Cage on Feb. 11-12.
Next week, the Bulldogs will host Vassar at home on Feb. 4.
