Look to Repeat Last Year's 20-7 Victory

NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Fresh off the heels of the Jan. 27 NYU Invitational, the Yale men's fencing team will head this weekend to Poughkeepsie, N.Y., to take on Vassar.

When the Bulldogs arrive at the Feb. 2 match-up, they will look to repeat last year's 20-7 victory against Vassar at home in Payne Whitney Gymnasium.

The Elis will come to the bout with momentum from the NYU Invitational in New York, where they put up a 3-2 record that included substantial wins against NYU, UNC, and Wayne State. The NYU Invitational provided the Bulldogs an opportunity to bounce back after a heartbreaking 14-13 loss to Sacred Heart at home on Jan. 19.

This Saturday's match will offer the Elis their last chance to fine tune their performance before the season culminates with the Feb. 9-10 Ivy League Championship, hosted this year by Harvard in Cambridge, Mass.
