A duo of fencers on the Yale men’s fencing team—junior Hugh O’Cinneide and freshman Reed Srere—have finished in 14th and 19th place, respectively, in saber competition at the Mar. 20-23 NCAA National Championship.

Junior Hugh O’Cinneide and freshman Reed Srere are bound for Columbus, Ohio, to represent the Yale men’s fencing team at the Mar. 20-23 NCAA National Championship at Ohio State’s French Field House.

Two members of the Yale men’s fencing team have qualified Mar. 20-23 NCAA National Championship after demonstrating their prowess throughout the course of the season and at last weekend’s regional contest. The NCAA made the announcement of the championship field in Indianapolis on Tuesday.

Three Fencers Join Elis
The Yale men’s fencing team will bolster its ranks with three freshmen—Ian Richards, Reed Srere and Jacob Stein—this fall. Together, the three newcomers will add more than two decades of fencing experience and bring new energy to a team led by senior captain Cornelius Saunders.
