NEW HAVEN, Conn. - On Saturday, Yale will host its only home meet of the year in the 7th floor fencing salon at the Payne Whitney gymnasium. They will be competing against Vassar and Sacred Heart. Last year, the Elis had a stellar performance, besting the Brewers 18-9 and the Pioneers 17-10. Bolstered by a strong performance at the Philadelphia Invitational, the team hopes to have an equally-strong showing this year.
Because the home meet is also Senior Day friends, family and teammates will join in celebrating the dedication and accomplishments of the seniors on the team: Samuel South, Avery Vella, and Paul Won. The ceremony will take place between the two match-ups.
Yale will fence Vassar at 12 p.m. and Sacred Heart at 2 p.m..
