After two days of fierce competition in the 2019 NCAA Championships, the Bulldogs have earned an impressive seventh place finish for Yale. The 91 cumulative victories place Yale well within the top third of the competition.
Individually, in saber, Walter Musgrave finished in 14th place. In foil, Earnest Chen and Cameron Allen earned 16th and 19th place respectively. In epee, Isaac Shelanski and Safi Haider finished in 20th and 22nd place respectively.
Reflecting on the tournament, Allen says, "I was extremely proud of the way our team came together and competed to post Yale's highest NCAA Championship ranking in seventeen years. I know our team still has potential to do even better next season and look for forward to increasing our ranking even further than this seventh place finish."
The overall seventh place finish for Yale is the best finish the Bulldogs have earned since a sixth place tie in 2002. The team has been on a steady rise in the rankings since 2015, a trend the Bulldogs intend to continue.
