Saturday's Scrimmage Still On

Bulldogs Re-Focus After Surprise Visit

NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The Yale football scrimmage scheduled for 12:30 today at Clint Frank Field will go on as planned despite the rain.

The 2009 Bulldogs, a week away (Sept. 5) from a 1 p.m. scrimmage with Union College at Yale Bowl, get their first game-like situation today on the main practice field.

The Elis got a surprise break from practice on Friday when professional tennis player Caroline Wozniacki visited the workout and was given a chance to address the squad led by Tom Williams, the Joel E. Smilow '54 Head Coach of Yale Football. The WTA star, in town to defend her 2008 Pilot Pen Tennis Tournament title, talked to the Elis about being a professional athlete.
