2010 SLATE OPENS WITH HOYAS
NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- For the first time since 1998, the Yale football team has six home games scheduled. The 2010 Bulldogs will play six times in Yale Bowl while competing in four road contests.
The Elis, coming off a 4-6 season in 2009, open this fall in New Haven with Georgetown on Sept. 18 before heading to Cornell to open the Ivy League season on the 25th.
The first meeting of Yale and Albany is set for Oct. 2 in the Bowl. Other home contests include Fordham, Penn and Columbia on consecutive October Saturdays. Yale closes out the home slate with a Nov. 13 game against Princeton.
The rest of the Yale road schedule is league action against Dartmouth, Brown and Harvard.
Most of the 10-game seasons have been evenly split between home and away. Prior to the construction of the most recent highways in the region, Yale football teams typically played seven or eight of their nine-game seasons in the Bowl for a variety of reasons.
