Broadcasts Begin on Sept. 18
NEW HAVEN, Conn. - For the 13th consecutive season, all 10 Yale Football games can be heard live on New Haven's News/Talk 960 WELI-AM and free online at 960WELI.com, Yale Athletics and WELI announced today. Ron Vaccaro '04 (play-by-play) and Carm Cozza (color) will have the call for their sixth season together.
The season begins on September 18 at the Yale Bowl (Class of '54 Field) with Yale hosting Georgetown and continues through November 20 and the 127th playing of The Game at Harvard.
"I'm as excited as I've ever been entering a season," said Vaccaro, who has covered the Bulldogs since entering Yale as a freshman in 2000. "I'm confident that the right pieces are in the right places for a successful year, so bring your radio to the Bowl!"
Cozza, the all-time winningest coach in the Ivy League and a member of the College Football Hall of Fame, begins his 13th season in the radio booth after a 32-year head coaching tenure during which he led the Bulldogs to 10 Ivy League championships. The new locker room at Smilow Field Center was named in his honor this season.
Vaccaro enters his sixth season as the Voice of the Bulldogs. He has won two Emmy Awards for his work with NBC Sports and Olympics, his primary employer since graduating from Yale with distinction in political science in May 2004. He called race walking and modern pentathlon for NBC at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 2009 World Swimming Championships for Universal Sports. He has covered a total of four Olympics for NBC. This fall marks his fifth season as the Research Supervisor on the network's Football Night in America show.

Yale Bowl is a classic New England destination spot for sports fans, and tuning in to hear Ron and Carm each Saturday on WELI is an annual rite of autumn," said Ross Cooper of Clear Channel Radio- New Haven.
Producer/engineer Tom Ivanovich, who has also been a member of the broadcast team since 1998 and spotter/statistician Kevin Guarino add the finishing touches to the coverage.
Yale Football has been heard on WELI for most of the past 50 years.
