Christodoulou Gets Ivy Award

Senior Breaks Yale Career Record

PRINCETON, NJ. - Senior WR Gio Christodoulou (Miami, Fla.) was named Ivy League Special Teams Player of the Week after returning four punts for 106 yards in the 30-0 win over Dartmouth on Oct. 8 at Yale Bowl.

Christodoulou had a 53-yard TD return in the third quarter and later added a 42-yard non-scoring run that put him atop the school's career punt return yardage list with 813. He currently leads the Ivies with a 14.9 average.

Christodoulou is in the mix of talented receivers getting snaps but only has one catch this fall after having 38 for a team-best 563 yards last fall. He came back to Yale this fall using a medical hardship waiver from 2009. He also has 23 kickoff returns for 553 yards (just shy of 10th).

The Bulldogs (3-1, 2-0 Ivy) are at Lafayette this Saturday for a 6 p.m. game.
