Yale Has 4 Straight Home Games
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – You have to wait until the end of September to see the Yale football team at Yale Bowl in the regular season, but the Sept. 29 home opener against Colgate is the first of four straight on the Class of 1954 Field.
The Bulldogs (5-5, 4-3 Ivy) open the 2012 season at Georgetown (8-3, 3-2 Patriot) on Sept. 15 and have their second-longest road trip a week later to kickoff the Ivy season at Cornell (5-5, 3-4).
The Raiders (5-6, 1-4) begin a four-game home stand that includes two games against Patriot League schools (Lafayette: 4-7, 1-4). Yale hosts important league contests against Dartmouth (5-5, 4-3) on Oct. 6 and Penn (5-5, 4-3) on Oct. 20 prior to a pair of Ivy road games.
The balancing of the Ivy schedules impacts the Yale slate on two Saturdays. The Elis host Dartmouth and play at Columbia (1-9, 1-6) for a second consecutive year. The Bulldogs and Lions are in Manhattan on Oct. 27 before the Blue heads to Providence to face Brown (7-3, 4-3) on Nov. 3.
The H-Y-P campaign begins with the home season finale against Princeton (1-9, 1-6). The 129th edition of The Game is a noon kickoff at Harvard Stadium on Nov. 17.
