Spring Game on April 19 at 2 PM
NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Clint Frank, Yale's 1937 Heisman Trophy winner, never had spring football practice, but that won't stop the 2014 Bulldogs from having it on the field named after him beginning on March 26.
The Yale football team, with 38 returning lettermen, stages the first of 11 practices on the synthetic turf of Clint Frank Field at 7 a.m. on the 26th before completing spring workouts by playing the annual Blue-White Game in Yale Bowl on April 19 (2 p.m.).
All 11 practices are currently scheduled for 7 to 9 a.m. on the following dates: March 26, 28 and 31; April 2, 4, 7, 9, 11, 14, 16 and 18.
The Bulldogs, coming off a 5-5 campaign under second-year mentor Tony Reno, the Joel E. Smilow '54 Head Coach, are about to celebrate the 100th year of football in Yale Bowl with six home contests and special events planned around those games.
One of those is the renewal of the rivalry between Army and Yale on Sept. 27, a week after the Elis open the season at home against Lehigh. The rest of the challenging slate in the Bowl includes Dartmouth, Colgate, Penn and Princeton.
