Sophomore Yale tailback Mike McLeod (New Britain, Conn.), who has six touchdowns in the last two games, rushed for a career-high 172 yards on 30 attempts against a solid Lafayette defense and earned his first Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week honors in the Elis' 37-34 win at Easton, Pa., on Saturday.
He averaged 5.7 per carry and put the game out of reach with a 45-yard scoring run in the fourth quarter. He also scored on a pair of one-yard runs.
McLeod, who earned his second straight Yale Walter Camp Player of the Game honor, had two rushing TDs and one receiving score at Cornell. His first career TD catch was a 41-yarder off a screen pass.
The 2005 Ivy League Rookie of the Year now has four games over 100 yards rushing in his Yale career.
