Bulldogs in Middle of Pack After Day One at Adams Cup
Newport, R.I. - After 36 holes at the Adams Cup - a tournament
showcasing several top teams from up and down the East Coast - the
men's golf team has shown they can play with anyone, finishing
right in the middle of the 17-team field, tied with Binghamton for
ninth overall. Captain Tom McCarthy posted the Elis' lowest
individual score, finishing his two rounds at a combined 6-over,
tying him for 16th.
Sophomore Bradley Kushner
also had a strong day one showing for Yale, as did freshman Sam
Bernstein, both of whom tied for 24th overall, 8-over on the
day.
At a combined +35 through 36 holes, the Bulldogs find themselves 30
strokes off the 5-over pace set by the University of Central
Florida, but just 13 behind Central Connecticut, who currently sits
in third. The Elis will look to make up that ground Tuesday when
they take to the course in Newport for the second day of the
tournament.
