    Coach Sheehan Named Northeast Coach of the Year Yale men’s golf team Head Coach Colin Sheehan ’97 was named the Division I Northeast Region Coach of the Year by the Golf Coaches Association of America in Norman, Okla., on Friday.

    All-Region Honors for Bernstein, Kushner Two members of the Yale men’s golf team, rising senior Sam Bernstein (New York, N.Y.) and Bradley Kushner ’13 (Mendham, N.J.), have been named to the 2013 Northeast All-Region Team by the Golf Coaches Association of America. The GCAA made the announcement Tuesday.

    Bernstein Concludes Competition at NCAA’s Baton Rouge Regional Rising senior Sam Bernstein, the reigning Ivy League Player of the Year, concluded competition at the NCAA’s Baton Rouge Regional at The University Club Saturday. Bernstein shot a 76 in the third and final round to finish at 236 (+20), tied for 59th among the 75 players at the regional. Alabama’s Scott Strohmeyer, who shot a 69 on Saturday, finished first with a three-round total of 212 (-4). No. 2 Alabama, one of 13 teams competing at the regional, finished with the best team score (868).

That leaves him at 160 (+14) after two rounds, tying him for 62nd among the 75 players at the regional. Florida’s Tyler Vogel leads with a 141.

The Bulldogs had the best finish of any Ivy League team, as their final score of 592 was six strokes better than Princeton, eight strokes better than Penn, 11 strokes better than Columbia, 21 strokes better than Brown, 26 strokes better than Dartmouth and 52 strokes better than Cornell.
