Yale in 13th After Day One
Difficult Tournament to Kick Off Spring Season
OPELIKA, Ala. — It was a tough opening day on Monday for the Yale men's golf team at the Mar. 11-12 Tiger Invitational, as it fought its way through rough weather to end the day in 13th place.
Hosted by No. 19 Auburn at the Lake Course on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Grand National in Opelika, Ala., the Tiger Invitational marks a difficult start to the Bulldogs' spring campaign. The tournament features a highly-ranked field including No. 48 Kentucky, No. 41 North Carolina and No. 26 Wake Forest.
After one round of play—Monday's second scheduled round was cancelled due to inclement weather—the Bulldogs sit in 13th with a score of 308. Sixteen shots ahead of the Elis, East Carolina leads at the moment with 290.
Players will return to the course Tuesday to play 36 holes beginning at 8 a.m. Central with a shotgun start.
