Four Elis Earn All-Region Honors

Bulldogs Honored by Golf Coaches Association of America

NORMAN, Okla.—Four members of the Yale men's golf team have been named to the 2014 Northeast Division I PING All-Region Team by the Golf Coaches Association of America. The GCAA made the announcement Thursday in Norman, Okla.

Senior captain Sam Bernstein, junior incoming captain William Davenport, senior Sean Gaudette and sophomore Joe Willis were named to the All-Region team after posting strong seasons in 2013-14. The four Yale golfers joined a select group of 157 golfers across six regions that received the honors. In all four of his years at Yale, Bernstein has been named to the All-Region team.

This year's four recipients is the Bulldogs' highest number in recent years; last year two golfers—Bernstein and 2012-13 captain Bradley Kushner '13—received All-Region recognition. This year's result reflected the strength of the Bulldogs' 2013-14 season, which included victories at the Doc Gimmler and the Ivy League Match Play and no finish lower than second place in competition around the northeast.
