Bulldogs Set to Host Yale Spring Invitational

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Coming off a 14-stroke victory at the Princeton Invitational, the Yale men's golf team returns home for the Yale Spring Invitational this Saturday. The field for the event features 72 players from Brown, Bucknell, Fairfield, Fordham, Hartford, Harvard, Pennsylvania, Siena, St. Bonaventure, St. John's and Yale competing at the Yale Golf Course, which plays to 6,825 yards and par 70.

The one-day tournament consists of 36 holes over two rounds which will include a play six/count five format with tee times beginning at 7:20 a.m. on Saturday and play continuing throughout the day. Pin placement on the famed ninth hole will also be located in the swale during the afternoon round for the first time in recent memory.

Last season, the Elis finished second behind champion Tennessee after the Volunteers carded rounds of 283 and 282 to win The Yale Spring Invitational. On the individual leaderboard, seniors Eoin Leonard and captain James Nicholas tied for first overall at the event in 2018 with Tennessee's Lorenzo Scalise after each player shot a two-under, 138. Yale last won the tournament in 2017.
