Agostino Earns National Honor

Yale Frosh Gets HCA Rookie Award

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. - Yale freshman forward Kenny Agostino (Flanders, NJ) has been named the Hockey Commissioner's Association (HCA) National Rookie of the Month for his hot hand over the last four weeks.

Agostino, the January HCA honoree, hit the net eight times in nine games and had 12 points. The hottest hand on a Bulldog team that was ranked No. 1 in the country over the last two months, he had only one goal heading into the holiday break.

The only other Eli to earn an HCA award was Broc Little (player of the month) last February.

Yale's top scoring rookie, Agostino was named ECAC Hockey MLX Skates Rookie of the Week on Jan. 23 (3 goals vs. Clarkson/SLU), and is the only Bulldog to earn conference rookie honors this season.

The former Delbarton School star has nine goals and 17 points and ranks seventh nationally among rookies with one point per game. His nine goals are third among ECAC newcomers.

Agostino became the first Yale freshman in 30 years to record five points in one game on Jan. 2. He notched three goals and two assists against Holy Cross and became the school's first freshman to tally five points since former Olympian and NHL star Bob Brooke '83 established the school rookie record against Dartmouth in 1980.
