5 Bulldogs Begin Pro Careers

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Five members of the 2010-11 Yale men's hockey team have already begun their professional playing careers. Seniors Denny Kearney, Chris Cahill, Mike Matczak and Ryan Rondeau are all currently on American Hockey League rosters, while classmate Jimmy Martin is in the East Coast Hockey League.

Kearney (in photo) already has three points in two games with the Springfield Falcons. He scored his first professional goal in the third period against the Connecticut Whale on April 2. Kearney has been playing on the second line with Boston College standout and Hobey Baker Award finalist Cam Atkinson. The Falcons roster also includes former ECAC players Allen York (RPI) and Aaron Bogosian (SLU). The Falcons are affiliated with the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Cahill has played two games with the Milwaukee Admirals of the AHL. The Admirals work with the Nashville Predators. Matczak and Rondeau recently joined the AdirondackPhantoms

Martin is on the Reading Royals roster. The Royals are affiliated with the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Boston Bruins.
