Yale Sophomore Shooting For 2012 Worlds
LAKE PLACID, N.Y. – Kenny Agostino '14, Yale Hockey's rookie of the year in 2010-11, is led all scorers at the 2011 USA Hockey National Junior Evaluation Camp with 10 points. There are currently 29 players competing for the final 22 spots for a Team USA squad that will compete in the 2012 International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship, Dec. 26 to Jan. 5 in Calgary and Edmonton, Alta.
Agostino has three goals and seven assists in games against rival nations at the evaluation camp. The 2012 U.S. National Junior Team will be selected in late December following a pre-tournament camp to be held in Alberta. The Yale sophomore earned Hockey Commissioner's Association Rookie of the Month last January when he tallied eight goals with 12 points. Agostino, an Academic All-ECAC Hockey selection, led all Eli rookies with 10 goals and 25 points while his five points against Holy Cross were the most by a Yale rookie since 1980.
He finished the camp with a goal and an assist in today's 6-4 loss to Sweden.
