ECAC Hockey Pre-Season Picks

ALBANY, N.Y. – The Yale men's hockey team has been picked by the coaches to finish fifth in the 2012-13 ECAC Standings. The Bulldogs, who were 16-16-3 overall last winter, finished tied for sixth with Clarkson before taking a first-round playoff series from Princeton at Ingalls Rink.

Yale, which has captured two of the last four ECAC Tournament titles, received 77 points but no first-place votes. There were no Bulldogs on the pre-season all-league squad. Official practices begin for the Elis on Oct. 12 as they prepare for the Oct. 27-28 Ivy Showdown at Brown.

Union, coming off its run to the Frozen Four in Tampa, is no surprise as the coaches' pick to repeat as league champions. The Dutchmen received 118 points and eight first-place votes.
