Wilson Named Rookie of Week
Yale Forward Gets ECAC Honor
ALBANY, NY – Stu Wilson (Pittsford, NY), a freshman on the Yale men's hockey team, has been named ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week after a two-point weekend during the Bulldogs' sweep of Colorado last weekend.
Wilson, Yale's first 2012-13 conference honoree, had the primary assist on the game-winning goal in overtime at Colorado College on Nov. 24. The night before at Denver, he scored shorthanded for the game's first goal in the third period before Yale eventually won in OT.
The Bulldog newcomer had two goals and three points in eight games this season. Wilson came to New Haven after playing three seasons for the USHL Cedar Rapids team. He served as 2011-12 captain and won numerous awards while playing in the USHL.
Wilson is the son of current RIT hockey head coach Wayne Wilson, who played collegiately at Bowling Green, and led the Tigers to the 2010 Frozen Four.
The Bulldogs (5-2-1) are home this Saturday night at 7 to face Brown.
