Teams Selected For East Regional

Yale, Fairfield Hosting NCAAs at Webster Bank

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – A pair of ECAC teams take on two Hockey East squads for one spot at the 2014 Frozen Four in Philadelphia and a shot at the NCAA Championship. That's what is happening at this week's NCAA East Regional hosted by Yale and Fairfield Universities at Webster Bank Arena.

Friday's 2 p.m. game pits No. 1 seed Union (3rd overall seed), the winner of both the ECAC regular season and tournament titles, against fourth-seeded Vermont. The other semifinal is scheduled for 5:30 with No. 2 Quinnipiac (ECAC) playing No. 3 Providence College (Hockey East).

Both semifinals air live on ESPNU; Saturday's 3 p.m. championship can be seen on ESPN2.

Tickets for 3-game packages are available now on www.NCAA.com/frozenfour, or through the Webster Bank Ticket Office.

This is the fourth year Yale and Fairfield have co-hosted this regional at Webster Bank Arena. There have been four college hockey programs (Yale, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota-Duluth) with NCAA titles that have played in Bridgeport's NCAA event. Miami, Vermont, Union, Air Force and UMass-Lowell are the other schools that have competed in the regional.
