Two Elis Taken in 4th Round
DALLAS, Texas - Two members of the Yale Hockey Class of 2022 were selected in the fourth round of the 2018 NHL Draft last week in Dallas, Texas. Center Curtis Hall was drafted by the Boston Bruins while defenseman Jack St. Ivany was picked up by the Philadelphia Flyers.
St. Ivany, at 6'2" and 195 pounds, was the 112th overall pick. The Manhattan Beach, Calif. Native played in the USHL for the past two seasons for the Sioux Fall Stampede, where he scored 49 points in 109 games. In his final season with the Stampede, St. Ivany totaled 36 points in 54 games, marking a 26-point increase from his 2016-2017 campaign.
In addition, St. Ivany played in the USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game in both 2017 and 2018. The defenseman served as alternate captain for the 2017 season and earned a silver medal at the World Junior A Challenge in 2017. St. Ivany was also named to the USHL Third All-Star Team for the 2017-2018 season.
Hall, a 6'3", 197-pound center from Chagrin Falls, Ohio, was selected by the Atlantic Division squad as the 119th overall pick. Hall played two seasons for the Youngstown Phantoms of the USHL, where he tallied 52 points in 113 games. In his final season with the Phantoms, Hall had 13 goals and 31 points in 54 games.
Hall was named to the All-Rookie 2nd Team in 2016-2017 and to the USA Ivan Hlinka Team in 2017. Additionally, Hall played in the 2017 USA Hockey/All-American Prospects Game, the USHL's Top Prospects Game and the World Junior A Challenge.
